Kanga bouncing after physiotherapy at Calder Vets

Kanga - physiotherapy at Calder Vets Dewsbury

This is Kanga, a 10-year-old English Springer Spaniel who recently visited our Dewsbury practice for physiotherapy.

Although she is 10, Kanga still behaves like a puppy. She has IOHC in her left elbow, which means the growth plates in her elbow didn’t fuse together fully when she was growing. This is quite common with her breed and she had surgery to insert a screw to help support the bone and prevent fracture.

X-rays in the past confirmed she also has arthritis in all four limbs, which has caused reduced range of movement in all affected joints. Veterinary surgeon Laura du Pre has Kanga set up with all the right treatment to help her feel comfortable and continue running around like a puppy.

Our new veterinary physiotherapist Emma Green has created a treatment plan which involves massage, stretching, passive range of movement techniques and PEMF (pulsed electromagnetic field therapy).

Emma visits Dewsbury every week offering physiotherapy appointments for our patients.  For more information call our Dewsbury branch on 01924 465592.
