I qualified from The Veterinary College of Ireland at the University College, Dublin in 1988. I spent the first 3 years in mixed practice in Worcester and Wales. There I really enjoyed both working on farms, especially at lambing time, and working with pets in the afternoons and evenings. Having married I now work four days a week at Calder vets dividing consulting time between the Dewsbury and Horbury surgeries. I thoroughly enjoy my work as part of the team. I enjoy talking to clients about their pets and helping them resolve any problems or issues they have. My main areas of interest are skin diseases and problems of the older dog and cat.
Outside of work my time is mainly taken up with my family. I enjoy playing tennis, badminton and hillwalking in the Dales and Lake District. I have two cats Alfie and Kaiser.
