Calder Vets is a 13 site first opinion practice with the central hub at our busy Tier 3 Hospital in Dewsbury. Our ethos is clinical excellence and we try and live by our Core Values. Client and patient care is at the heart of what we do.

Halton has been open 12 months and is growing month on month. There is lots of potential here for a keen vet to come in and grow the practice, putting their own stamp on it and seeing it flourish under their care.
It is equipped to a high standard with 2 air conditioned consult rooms, separate cat and dog wards and waiting areas, theatre, capnography, imaging suite with digital x-ray and ultrasound, dental including x-ray and lab.

The right candidate will be great at building client relationships and genuinely care about their patients and their team. You will need to be confident with sole charge, although there is support from our Dewsbury Hospital and our colleagues at Paragon Veterinary Referrals for more complex procedures. All OOH work is carried out at our Dewsbury Hospital.

We encourage our vets to undertake certificates and within the practice we have 6 cert holders and another 6 working towards one, covering surgery, medicine, imaging, cardiology and derm. Our colleagues at Paragon Veterinary Referrals also provide regular lunchtime CPD sessions and are on hand to provide case advice over the phone, teleradiology and referral when needed.

We also believe in work:life balance - 40 hrs per week (8-8 x 1, 8-6 x 3 and every other Saturday 10.30-12.30). We firmly believe everyone should have a lunch break and everyone should expect to leave on time.

Being sociable together is important to us and we have regular events that you can choose to participate in, including the Tour de Calder Vets bike ride, cocktail making classes and summer parties.
