Veterinary medicine techniques and treatments have advanced significantly in recent years ; this has led to an increase in the cost of treatment for some illnesses and injuries. The pet insurance market can appear complicated, with over 60 different insurers offering a range of policies. Cover levels can differ significantly: some may restrict the amount claimed or the length of time you can claim an illness for. Calder Vets are directly authorised by the Financial Services Authority, so we can help by advising you about the better policies on the market. Please contact our dedicated Insurance team on 01924 465592 during normal office hours for more information. If you need to make a claim on your pet insurance, the following information may help: Claiming to yourself: This is the usual way of claiming on pet insurance. You pay for treatment, provide us with a claim form, which we fill in and send to your insurance company, who then reimburse you. Claiming direct : You pay the policy excess and any items not covered by your insurer and complete the relevant forms. The vet then claims the treatment costs direct from your insurer. If the claim is accepted, your insurer send payment direct to the vet. If you wish to take advantage of our claim direct facility, this needs to be arranged in advance. The steps you will need to take are as follows: (1)Please contact your insurer and give them authority to discuss your policy with Calder Vets. (2)Call our insurance team on 01924 465592 ( during office hours) and provide us with the following:
We will then confirm that we can offer claim direct for your pet’s treatment. Please note that the agreement to claim direct is not confirmation that your insurer will definitely settle your claim. (3)Please bring your policy documents and a claim form to your appointment. You will also need to complete a Calder Vets insurance authorisation form ( pls insert link to form here ). (4)A further claim form will be required for subsequent treatments. |
