The Sandal surgery consists of a spacious waiting room, consultation room and small kennel area. Animals are transferred to our Wakefield Surgery for routine surgical procedures. Sandal Surgery also has the support and use of resources at the nearby Dewsbury Veterinary Hospital. There is ample parking at the front of the building. We are located opposite the Asda supermarket.
Natasha Richardson is the main vet at Sandal. She gained a BSc in Animal Science from the University of Leeds before going on to graduate as a Veterinary Surgeon from the University of Glasgow in 2003. She has worked in a number of first opinion and referral practices around the country before settling back in Yorkshire and taking over the Sandal surgery. She has a passion for small animal practice, especially soft tissue surgery and cats!
Mark Harrison the main vet at our Wakefield branch also has regular consulting times at Sandal.
Caroline Buckley and Liz Peel are the Nurse/ PHC at Sandal. Caroline has been with Calder Vets for many years and used to be our head nurse at the Dewsbury hospital! Liz has also been with Calder Vets for some time and managed one of our branches for 2 years. They both have a wealth of experience and can help with a wide range of health problems and general advice, including weight clinics/dietary advice, senior pet clinics, parasite control (worming and flea treatment), vaccinations, choosing the right pet and dental checks.

Monday to Friday 8.30am - 11am, 4pm - 6pm
Saturday 8.30am - 10:00am
All consultations are held by appointment only. Any emergencies will continue to be seen as required.
