As well as providing excellent branch facilities for day cases, The Mirfield surgery also acts as our Ophthalmology Referral Centre. There is a spacious waiting room, 3 consulting rooms, large prep area and dedicated theatre, xray and ultrasound, plus ample kenneling. There is also a variety of advanced diagnostic and surgical equipment for referred ophthalmology cases.

Gemma McKeown is the head nurse at Mirfield. She qualified as a VN in 1996 and has been with Calder Vets since 2004. As well as assisting the vets with anaesthetics and surgical/medical procedures, she is able to offer a Pet Health Advisor service and is keen to help with a wide range of health problems and general advice, including weight clinics/dietary advice, senior pet clinics, parasite control (worming and flea treatment), vaccinations, choosing the right pet and dental checks.

Surgery Hours:

Monday to Friday 8.30am - 7.30pm

Saturday 8.30am - 11am
