The Horbury surgery consists of a spacious waiting room, consultation room and small kennel area for pets who are being transported to the main Dewsbury hospital. There is a car park to the rear of the building.

The Main vet at Horbury is Shona Haydon who graduated with honours from the Royal Veterinary College London in 2006 and spent 18 months working in mixed practice in Suffolk. Despite enjoying the varying challenges that this offered, Shona decided to concentrate on small animal practice. She joined Calder Vets in January 2009 at the end of a short period of working as a small animal locum. Shona is enroled on the RCVS Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice. She is developing a particular interest in medicine and in improving her ultrasonography skills.

Caroline Buckley is the Nurse/ PHC at Horbury. She has been with Calder Vets for many years and used to be our head nurse at the Dewsbury hospital! She has vast experience and can help with a wide range of health problems and general advice, including weight clinics/dietary advice, senior pet clinics, parasite control (worming and flea treatment), vaccinations, choosing the right pet and dental checks.
